The WEIRDrpg is an immersive, interactive, online gaming experience that exists in Helstrom: A New Verse, created by world renowned artist, Karina K. Harper. In this game you will have a chance to decide the fate of the initial characters in the backstory of the Helstrom Verse powered by the WEIRDrpg, a VR gaming system which will be open to the public in 2024.

The setting is the Great Migration, a symbiotic economy on the planet Helstrom. It is a futuristic nomadic society where everyone is constantly on the move to lessen the danger of the planet’s extreme weather patterns.

Your character is Jinko Balbao, a {Journey’Aum Courier} in the {Order of the DAWN}. It is your mission to see that the {ARTIFACT: Portrait of Lehagenn Hanitsakhonn} arrives to the Fête de Triste safely.

Your character is a player in the backstory of Helstrom: A New Verse {VARP Scenario: The Song of Yulalt} Behind the scenes is a mysterious player with a dangerous plot to steal valuable {ARTIFACTS}.

As the owner of this NFT, you will begin the game with the {CHARACTER} Jinko Balbao. Each character starts with an NFT in their possession, and a {QUEST} to accomplish. You have received a quest to transport the {ARTIFACT: Portrait of Lehagenn Hanitsakhonn} to the Fête de Triste, a prestigious affair that you would not normally get access to, as it is a highly prized honor for exclusive VIPs. However, it is common for the keeper of rare {ARTIFACTS} to be asked to attend prestigious social functions so that the artifacts can be put on display and enjoyed by all! They also have a great responsibility. Everyone is looking to them for direction. Their decisions decide the fate of thousands, millions, even billions of Aum. Entire ecosystems can become unbalanced or restored by their actions. The pressure on them is intense from each and every Sigil. They are not immune to consequences, but rather are judged harshly by them. They are sometimes worshiped, sometimes feared. Often it is both.

You awake suddenly, completely alert. Your skin is skimming with a quiet vibration and there is a strange resonance in the air. You feel it, rather than hear it. All is quiet around you. Your friends are still sleeping. Then you see a shadow move; a slice of elegant darkness steps away from the night. It is a powerful sentient, moving with grace and intention. Goddess? Angel? Danu? You feel yourself rise to your feet. You have no choice but to follow, mesmerized. You walk gently past the sleeping forms and out beyond the firelight and into the Wilds. The shadow leads you around a rock outcropping crowned with a weeping wylla tree and down into a shallow depression below. There are smooth ancient stone steps that cling to the boulders, then open into a starlit grove. There you see her clearly for the first time. She, you know it is She, the Kanyāratna Asiknī, “The Jewel of the Night”. You know her story. She stands as flawless as truth, watching you approach. You feel inclined to bow down to her, and yet you are starstruck and paralyzed in her presence. Your free will has not been arrested, there is just no desire to separate your eyes from this magnificent being. . She is glorious and radiant in her dark aura. Then she turns and reaches her dark ebony arm down to the clear pool at her feet. The starlight gives commentary on her every curve. A dancer of Tryste would seem clumsy in comparison. She manifests all that is hidden below the surface. She emanates with the true spirit of grace and intention. Her palm flattens. Her fingertips hover over the water. She does not touch the surface, yet the water begins to ripple in complex waves. Her eyes look deep beyond, deep beyond the abyss, out into the void. Without turning her head she asks you: “Will you hear these waters sing?”

Karina “Kitten” Harper is a New Orleans female entrepreneur and mixed media fine artist that specializes in object symbology and global linguistics to tell a universal story of the human condition. She references symbols and patterns that are already familiar and reinvents them to ask new questions about what they mean in modern day society. Ms. Harper is known for her exhibitions featuring bronze filigree castings and quill pen calligraphy. She has been developing the creative problem solving project, Helstrom: A New Verse, and the corresponding role-playing game, The WEIRDrpg, for over a decade through research and development in world culture, philosophy, and interdisciplinary patterns. Sanctuary: After Earth is the second exhibition in the Helstrom series. The first was displayed in New Orleans, USA in May of 2022.

This multimedia fine art event featured a collection of cast bronze filigree sculptures by Ms. Harper. The sandcast bronze filigree sigils represented the first look at the factions of the Helstrom Universe. The satirical stories behind these Sigils demonstrate the philosophy of the WEIRDrpg. Local artists from New Orleans, LA, USA collaborated on the project. The
event included exclusive folk compositions by Thomas Thoreau, performed by the Indie Folk Orchestra; a variety of
local musicians performing the theme music for the WEIRD rpg composed by Joseph “Calloway” Cieslak; and concept
art by New Orleans artist Alexander T. Cardosi who contributed with a live painting demonstration of
Helstom’s alien life at the event.

New Orleans, March 17, 2022 – The Sigils of Helstrom, A New Earth: the unveiling of a new universe of creative works
by Karina “Kitten” Harper will be exhibited at The Den at The Howlin Wolf, 907 S. Peters St. New Orleans, LA, on
Monday, May 2, 2022 from 5pm-11pm. This free one-day arts event/exhibition will also feature a variety of local art and
music exclusive to the WEIRD rpg.

The WEIRD rpg is an immersive, interactive gaming experience created by Ms. Harper after over a decade of research
and development in world culture and folk traditions. Each player character will interact with their environment and other
alien races to gain the Sigils of Helstrom, but only through challenging their ideas about culture and society, and striving
to be a wise and empathetic being.

The evening will feature a collection of cast bronze filigree sculptures by Ms. Harper that represent the satirical stories
behind the Sigils and demonstrate the philosophy of the WEIRD rpg. Local artists are collaborating on the project and the
event will include exclusive folk compositions by Thomas Thoreau, performed by the Indie Folk Orchestra, a variety of
local musicians performing the theme music for the WEIRD rpg composed by Joseph “Calloway” Cieslak, and concept
art by New Orleans artist Alexander T. Cardosi who will also be contributing with a live painting demonstration of
Helstom’s alien life at the event.

and villains from around the world. It is exciting to see this creative storytelling project finally come to life.” Says Ms.
Harper, “Stories unite us in common purpose. I want to tell a story that all of humanity can vibe with, so we can learn to
grow into a peaceful people that values symbiotic relationships with each other and our environment.”

Chapter 1 of the WEIRD rpg is set in an allegorical post-apocalyptic utopia. Earthlings are given a second chance on a
new planet after destroying their home world. Thrown into a new culture full of intelligent alien life, humanity will need to
adapt or face extinction. Will they learn to form symbiotic relationships in this new environment or will players fall into old
patterns of xenophobia and exploitation? Each character will have the opportunity to explore the consequences.

For now, The Sigils of Helstrom, will be on display for one night only at The Den at The Howlin Wolf, 907 S. Peters St.
New Orleans, LA, on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 5pm-11pm.
